Catted Downpipes for BMW M3 G80 / G81, M4 G82 / G83, and M2 G87 (3.0 S58 Engine) - Including Competition Models.

BRONDEX® catted downpipes are equipped with 200-cell high-flow sport catalytic converters, which feature a significantly lower CPSI (Cells Per Square Inch) compared to the stock catalytic converters. This reduced cell density allows exhaust gases to flow more efficiently, decreasing backpressure and improving overall engine performance.

If you’re looking to upgrade your BMW M3 G80 / G81 Touring, BMW M4 G82 / G83, or BMW M2 G87 with BRONDEX® high-flow catted downpipes, you can expect noticeable performance gains, a deeper and more aggressive exhaust tone, and a more responsive driving experience.

ALSO AVAILABLE: BMW M3 G80 G81 / M4 G82 G83 / M2 G87 catless downpipes

Advantages of the BRONDEX® downpipes with High-Flow Sports Catalytic Converters:

  • Increased Power: By reducing backpressure, the engine can produce more power across the RPM range, especially at higher revs.
  • Balanced Sound: The exhaust note is sportier, mature but not excessively loud, making it suitable for daily driving.
  • Exact Fitment: BRONDEX® downpipes are precisely engineered to match the factory mounting points of the BMW M3, M4, and M2’s stock exhaust system. This ensures that the installation is straightforward, and no additional brackets or adaptors are needed. The dimensions and angles are designed to mirror the OEM catalysts, ensuring a seamless fit (diameter 3 inch). Since the BRONDEX® downpipes are direct bolt-on, there is no need for cutting, welding, or any irreversible changes to the vehicle. This preserves the integrity of the car and allows the stock downpipes to be reinstalled if needed (OEM fit for models, with and without OPF/ GPF).
  • Compatibility with OEM and Aftermarket Exhausts: The BRONDEX® downpipes are compatible not only with the stock exhaust system but also with many aftermarket exhaust systems. This makes them a flexible choice for those planning further upgrades in the future. Whether you keep the BMW factory exhaust or upgrade to a performance exhaust, the BRONDEX® downpipes will fit seamlessly.
  • Durability: Downpipes BMW M3 G80 G81 / M4 G82 G83 / M2 G87 are designed to withstand high temperatures, which is important for performance BMW M cars that produce significant heat during operation. BRONDEX® downpipes are made from stainless steel (304) to ensure long-term use even under extreme conditions (3-year warranty provided by BRONDEX®).
  • Weight Reduction: BRONDEX® downpipes with High-Flow Sports Catalytic Converters are lighter than stock catalytic converters.
  • Made in Europe: By being made in Europe, BRONDEX® delivers a product that upholds European standards of precision, reliability, and performance.
  • Worldwide shipping: BRONDEX® offers worldwide shipping for all high-performance exhaust parts, including the BMW M3 G80 G81 / M4 G82 G83 / M2 G87 downpipes.

Compatible Vehicles:

  • BMW G80 G81 M3 3.0 S58 2021+
  • BMW G82 G83 M4 3.0 S58 2021+
  • BMW G87 M2 Coupe 3.0 S58 2023+

Notes

After installing downpipes - whether or not they include catalytic converters - the Check Engine Light (CEL) may appear, and ECU remapping may be required. OFF ROAD / RACING COMPETITION USE ONLY!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Downpipe?

Downpipe is a component of a vehicle’s exhaust system that channels exhaust gases from the turbocharger to the rest of the exhaust system. It connects the turbo to the mid-pipe and plays a key role in optimizing exhaust flow. By replacing the restrictive factory catalytic converter, a downpipe allows exhaust gases to flow more freely from the turbocharger. In turbocharged engines, this reduces backpressure, enabling the turbo to spool faster and more efficiently, resulting in increased power output, especially at higher RPMs.

How Does a Downpipe Increase Horsepower?

  1. Improved Exhaust Flow: A downpipe replaces the restrictive factory catalyst, allowing exhaust gases to flow more freely from the turbocharger. In turbocharged engines, this reduces backpressure, allowing the turbo to spool more quickly and efficiently. The result is an increase in power output, especially at higher RPMs.
  2. Reduced Backpressure: Stock OEM catalysts often contain restrictive catalytic converters designed to meet emissions standards, which can hinder performance. Upgraded downpipes, especially "catless" or "high-flow catted" versions, reduce this restriction, allowing the engine to breathe better and operate more efficiently.
  3. Boost Gains: By improving exhaust flow, the turbocharger can spool up faster and achieve higher boost levels, translating into greater engine power. The faster the turbo reaches its peak boost, the more quickly the engine can generate additional horsepower and torque.
  4. Expected Power Gains: On turbocharged vehicles, including many AUDI, BMW and Mercedes models, downpipes can provide power gains in the range of 20 to 60 horsepower and more when combined with ECU tune. The actual gains depend on the car's engine, other modifications, and whether you use a high-flow catalytic converter or opt for a catless downpipe.

Is downpipe good for engine?

Downpipe can be very beneficial for your engine, by improving performance, reducing turbo lag, and lowering exhaust gas temperatures. However, it requires careful instalation and a proper ECU tune to avoid issues. If all done correctly, it can be a great upgrade without harming the engine.

What is the difference between stock catalytic converter and sports catalytic converter?

A stock catalytic converter has a high cell density (typically around 800/900 cells per square inch), which maximizes emissions reduction but restricts exhaust flow, limiting performance. A 200-cell sports catalytic converter has a lower cell density, allowing for significantly better airflow, increased horsepower. The exact performance gains can vary depending on the vehicle's tune and driving conditions. High quality Stainless Steel construction and special precious metal wash coat delivers consistent emissions reduction, with a significant reduction in size and weight.

What is the difference between catless downpipes and catted downpipes

Catless downpipes lack a catalytic converter, allowing for maximum exhaust flow, increased performance, and a louder exhaust note, but they produce more emissions and can trigger a check engine light. Catted downpipes include a high-flow catalytic converter, offering a balance between performance and emissions compliance while producing a slightly quieter exhaust.

What warranty applies to BRONDEX® downpipes?
